Band Filming

As a group we filmed our solo band shot in the drama studio at school.Because our band shots are only consisting of one band member, we didn't need a vast space to film this in as wanted hi to be sitting on a stool. Luckily we were already equipped with a drama studio and thought we would make the most of this facility, the drama studio has spotlights and colorful lights to create mood. We chose to use a yellow spotlight as there is only one band member and we wanted the rest f the room to be blacked out to make him look lonely and create a depressing mood. The drama studio has black curtains at the back of the studio, therefore we filmed in front of it so the background was black and there was no distractions from the band shots.These black curtains were also effective as a shot we took was kieran getting up and walking away from the camera so he would blend in with black curtains the closer he gets to them and as well as that he can go behind the curtains to disappear. Both me and charlie did separate band filming, we used a still camera, a tripod and a long rod that we attached the camera to. Some shots we did were close ups on the guitar strings, and kierans fingers strumming the guitar. As well as this we took wide shots and shots further away from kieran so that we could incorporate movement, be it forward backwards, left or right. We also did high shots of kieran, so that he could look up at the camera to portray emotion.
