Researching Music Videos/genre

A joint decision was made to create a new music video. In order for us to decide on a specific genre we brainstormed a variety of artists and there categorized genre. Below is a spider diagram displaying our results:





We chose to research one artist from each genre so that we would have a variety of choice. This also gave us the opportunity to compare different styles of music videos depending on what the genre was. By researching a different artist from each genre it meant that we were catering to other peoples likes/dislikes for we specifically are fans of indie/rock music however other people would disagree, therefore this would be a fair research process.

Introductory Post

This blog will contain everything we do within our advanced portfolio. My group consists of 3 other media students, Kieran, charlie, rachel and I. The brief we have been set is to create a music video or a film trailer, my group has chosen to create a music video. Within this objective we also have the task of producing an ancillary task to create a promo package. This promo package includes the options of a website home page for the band, a digi pack and/or a magazine advert. I have chosen to create a poster and a digi pack.
